Data quality is fairly simple nomenclature to describe the state of the data being processed, analyzed, fed into AI, and more. But this modest little term belies an incredibly critical and complicated reality: that enterprises require the highest level of data quality possible in order to do everything from developing product and business strategies, and engaging with customers, to predicting the weather and finding the fastest delivery routes. In other words, the most accurate data will provide the most reliable outcomes, in a consistent, trusted manner.

We’ve held data quality in extremely high regard for years here at Hitachi Vantara and have integrated features and functions into our software to enable customers to improve operations decision-making with increasingly user-friendly platforms that help reduce integration costs and save time. And we continue to drive this strategy forward every day.

Major Lumada Update Ships

That’s why we are pleased to announce the immediate availability of the Lumada Industrial DataOps 5.1. This software release includes IT/OT connectivity, IIoT Core Platform, Machine Learning and Data Management capabilities. (See Lumada Industrial DataOps for more details on the portfolio components.)

Our customers spoke, and we listened. This release focuses on customer requests and market-driven features that enrich data ingestion capabilities to generate better insights that drive business value. Highlights include greater portfolio integration, better management of large-scale systems and interoperability with other applications for a unified configuration and management environment.

Enhanced Data Quality and Data Catalog Integration

In the 5.1 release, users can configure IT/OT connectivity, create data routes and update data entries more seamlessly within our Data Catalog. Search & discovery of data in industrial data lakes and across relational databases and object stores has also been optimized.

The above example shows how a user can manage data sources, destinations and data routes. These data sources can be leveraged to perform discovery of desired data profiles and evaluate the quality of data based on configurable criteria.

Enhanced Asset Management in IIoT Core Services UI

In some Industrial IoT use cases, data must be collected from thousands of assets and processed in datacenters or the cloud. Usability is essential to reduce integration costs and save time. With this release, IIoT Core users can better select and view assets, which provides easier management. Select between a card view or a flat list view and pin and sort the assets you have added to find them more easily.

Powerful REST APIs for Extended Task Automation

To give the flexibility to communicate with external systems, users now have access to additional REST APIs for key features in IIoT Core for tasks such as Data Route & Endpoint management, Command & Task management and Device Group management. In addition, by utilizing these REST APIs for equipment assets, users can integrate and automate onboarding and redeploy processes, which is extremely useful for the automatic deployment and configuration of gateway applications and enables more accessible plug-and-play setup for hardware devices.

In summary, these enhancements are a crucial step toward overcoming Digital Transformation challenges and providing even greater user scalability and flexibility.
